The visit to Prague was in all respects exactly what we were expecting. The Corinthia Panorama Hotel was an all round excellent hotel. In fact we ate in the hotel every night, using the two restaurants available. It was only a three hundred metre walk to the Metro Station of ‘Pankrac’ and then only four stops to Metro Station ‘Museum’ which is at the top of Wenceslas Square and a very good place to start as it is all downhill to the river. It only cost 8 crowns for the journey and as there was no supervision anywhere, we used the same ticket for the return journey. On observation it appeared that the majority of Czechs were using the system without paying at all. Maybe, on reflection it may be free, as all the stations around the river are closed because of the floods in August 2002. This means it is impossible to cross the river by Metro. A fantastic few days which will be remembered.
