Allamanda Laguna resort -  Phuket

Allamundalagoon

Day 3. These are the days that I do not look forward to - having to fly to the next destination on the itinery and wasting a day of the holiday by doing so. Still, if you want to see as much as you can in a short time I suppose we have to put up with it. After about a four hour flight we duly touched down in Phuket where I had a hire car waiting to be picked up. The drive to the resort of “Laguna Phuket” took about twenty minutes, where we booked into our hotel - The “Allamanda”

Say no more - what a fantastic bed and also en-suite

This resort was to be our base for the next seven days and what a super place it was. The resort was built on a former tin mine which had been abandoned. There are five hotels which make up “Laguna Phuket” and they are ‘The Laguna Beach Hotel’, The ‘Dusit Laguna’ the ‘Sheraton Grande’, the ‘Banyon Tree’ and the ‘Allamanda’. The beauty of staying in this resort is that all the facilities of each hotel were at your disposal. As each hotel was different, this meant that it was almost impossible to see or do everything which was available. Yvonne treated herself to a Thai Massage at the Banyan Tree, where I also had a game of golf - an excellent test of golf with tree lined fairways and many lakes. The caddies were excellent - even gave me a massage to get me round, as I was struggling in the heat.
